Word of the Day: Sastruga

Today's word of the day is Sastruga:
A sastruga or zastruga (collective noun: sastrugi or zastrugi) is a member of a body of sharp irregular grooves or ridges formed on a snow surface by wind erosion and depostion, and found in polar regions. Recent spottings of Sastruga have been on the Garibaldi Neve and surrounding snowpacks, where the phenomema is ubiquitous and can be described as "a bitch to ski".
