NIN: best live show so evar!

Went and saw Nine Inch Nails and Queen's of the Stone Age tonight with Bob at the Coliseum and what a show it was. I would have to say that it was hands down the best live show I've ever seen. And I'm not the only one to say that, forums are going nuts about it. We missed the opener due to half of Vancouver trying to take transit to the show, but by the sound of their last song we didn't miss much. Queen's then put on a solid hour long show. But the highlight was NIN! The light work was just amazing and the energy of the band was endless. They never took a break throughout the 1h45min set!

One of the cooler things of the night was when a screen descended around the stage and a really trippy slideshow played out as the band played in behind. It started out as microbes and cells dividing and growing larger into animals. But then as the music picked up the projected animals started to prey on one another until the animals turned into humans and the images turned into missile strikes and tanks rolling down dusty streets obliterating crowds and homes still full of people.....pictures of war carnage followed as the stadium went silent except for the music. And in between shots of destruction were beautiful pictures of grass blowing in the wind and water flowing and groups of people dancing in unison...at least until the camera zoomed into a couple slowly spinning around to reveal Bush dancing peacefully for a spit second before we once again saw a child missing all appendages. The crowd erupted in cheers. Their point was made.

Once again, probably the best show I've seen to date!
