National Day Party

Today is Singapore's National Day, celebrating 40 years as an independent country. Last night there was sort of a carnival/party and firewords to commemorate it. Misha, Lisa, Samson and I went down to Marina bay for some of worst food I've had in Singapore sadly. I guess it figures when the food's made by this guy, Mr. porridge king, the sensual chef himself:

Then we spent a few hours at the National Day concert, which was hands down THE worst concert I've ever been to. The place was surrounded by guards armed with AK47s so we weren't allowed to so much as even jump lest we be shot with a rubber bullet. And who would want to jump anyway, the China/HK/Taiwan pop groups they had has to be the worst music in the world. I don't know how people can listen to "music" like FIR and K-one. All of the music was air-played and lip-synched, taken from prerecorded and digitally airbrushed recordings because the artists don't have the talent to play it themselves. I felt like an old grandpa saying "you call this crap music?" Obviously you can tell I don't like China-pop, so I was more than glad when we left.

On the way over to the water we found some tanks we of course hopped the fence to act like little boys!!

The fireworks were short but sweet. I got to try out my camera and new mini tripod!
